How does Road Quest work?
First choose which location is most suitable for you
Make the booking and choose the timeslot you want
We’ll send you some information, a waiver to sign and game guidance
You’ll be given a destination to head towards – but will receive a text 15 minutes before the start of the game with a precise location. Here you will meet the detective who will give you the ransom money
At the start time, you’ll receive the first instruction and the clock starts ticking
Is the game safe to play during this period affected by the coronavirus pandemic?
Yes. You will either be in your own car or outside, which is widely acknowledged to be the safest place to be. All clues and props that we use are cleaned after every game and we offer protective gloves if you want to wear them.
The game doesn’t seem to be environmentally friendly?
The distances involved are short so mileage is low. And, of course, we encourage the use of electric and hybrid cars. We are also working on a cycling version of the game which will launch soon.
What will stop drivers speeding or driving dangerously?
All drivers will be asked to sign a waiver which includes a commitment not to speed or break any other traffic laws. In addition, some of the clues are timed; they are only available after a certain period of time has elapsed – there is absolutely no reason or incentive to speed during the game. Should we suspect drivers speeding or driving dangerously, we reserve the right to terminate the game with immediate effect.
How long does Road Quest take to play?
The ransom has to be delivered within 90 minutes of the game starting, or the painting will be destroyed. All groups will be given their time at the end of the game.
What should we wear?
Light comfortable clothing is usually best although you will have to get in and out of the car to solve puzzles so wet weather gear may be useful in adverse weather conditions.
Can I add or remove people from my booking?
Yes you may add people to your booking – just call us on 0330 303 0880.
When do we need to arrive for our Road Quest game?
Please arrive 20 minutes before the start of the game at the destination you are given during booking. You will then receive a text directing you to the secret handover location.
What happens if we are late?
We will try and run the whole game for you although we will not allow any subsequent games to be affected by a group over-running. Please aim to arrive promptly allowing for any traffic delays.
Can we buy any refreshments?
No – you will need to bring your own refreshments including water.
What is your refund and cancellation policy?
For bookings cancelled between 20 March and 31 August 2020, we are not able to offer refunds but are happy to give you a voucher entitling you to rebook your activity at another time to suit you. Please note that once you have re-scheduled your booking, we cannot offer any subsequent date amendments.
For bookings made from 1 September 2020 onwards, we are pleased to say that we can offer refunds in the event a booking needs to be cancelled; we appreciate that the ongoing restrictions around COVID-19 create uncertainty and plans may change as a result.
What happens after the game?
Every group will receive their time and a certificate. GOOD LUCK!
