BRAIN TERRAIN FAQ
How does Brain Terrain work?
First choose which location is most suitable for you and select the difficulty level
Make the booking and choose the time slot you want
We’ll send you some information, a waiver to sign and game guidance
You meet at the start area 20 minutes before the start of your game, warm up and get ready to go
At the start time, you will receive the first puzzle and the clock starts ticking
Is the game safe to play during this period affected by the coronavirus pandemic?
Yes. It is all outside which is widely acknowledged to be the safest place to be. All clues and props that we use are cleaned after every game and we offer protective gloves for those who wish to wear them. We do ask that everyone adheres to social distancing and we do reserve the right to cancel or delay a game if players are not adhering to the rules.
How long does the game take to play?
It depends on which level you book and also your level of fitness. We estimate that some games will be completed within 45 minutes but some may take up to 90 minutes. The only restriction is that we won’t allow one game to overlap into another. You will be given your official time when you complete your challenge.
What should we wear?
Sturdy trainers or boots and light comfortable clothing is usually best. But be prepared for changes in the weather and have something warm to put on at the end of the session.
Why do we need to arrive 20 minutes before our time slot?
This enables us to brief you on what you will be doing and also to warm up before the start of the game. It is your own responsibility to make sure you are properly warmed up and Distance Games cannot be held responsible for any injuries caused during the session. We also advise light stretching to warm-down after your game has finished.
Can I add or remove people from my booking?
Yes you may add people to your booking – just call us on 0330 303 0880.
What happens if we are late?
The clock will start on time and any lateness will be included in the overall time you post.
Is Brain Terrain accessible for wheelchair users?
Not currently although we are actively looking at suitable alternatives that will be genuinely fun but suitable for all wheelchairs users.
Can we buy refreshments while we are there?
No – you will need to bring your own refreshments including water.
What is your refund and cancellation policy?
In ordinary circumstances we don’t offer refunds. However, if the game cannot go ahead due to changes in the coronavirus alert level, a full refund will be given. We will allow one re-schedule free of charge as we recognise things don’t always go to plan. But re-schedules cannot be made on the day of the booked activity.
What happens after the game?
Every group will receive their time and a certificate. The fastest times will be entered onto our Champion of Champions Leaderboard. The best of the best will be invited to join us for a Champion of Champions Day in the Autumn 2020.
